All intimate relationships require time and attention.  Caring for yourself will lead you down a path of rejuvenation, allowing you to fulfill your basic needs and develop healthy interdependent relationships with those in your life.

The Four-Season Retreat Program

On this journey, we will explore how to meet each of your needs in a way that is perfect for you to create congruency for all you say you desire and get clear on any areas where you currently and unconsciously block those desires.  Our blocks come from our mostly unconscious in-congruencies with what we say/believe we want and what we are actually ready, willing, and able to achieve.

I have designed the Four Season Retreat Experience as an experiential observation of Mother Nature and how she is always communicating our perceptions, which lead to our behavior patterns, which lead to our outcomes.  Each season has a unique message to share.  Below you will see the unique message of Spring, a time that we all love and look forward to, yet, a time that can be wet, messy and undefined.

During these retreats you will reclaim your body through our dynamic, anti-aging program which will stop the accelerated aging that leads to disease and suffering and provide an opportunity for you to be biologically younger than your chronological years.  We will utilize the understandings of my upcoming book “Ramblings of a Mad Woman, Losing Your Mind and Finding Yourself” as we take a journey through our thought patterns and belief systems.  We will also incorporate high-level bodywork to balance emotions, biochemistry, meridians, neurological tone, and create relaxation.  Finally we will send you home with a whole new understanding of self and how you can create your Best, Truest Self allowing you to create your true heart’s desire.

The Four Season Coaching Retreats

All retreats include:

  • Coaching with Dr. Hartford on the nine areas that together create your life. We will work to achieve clarity, purpose, focus and passion for the areas you value most.
  • You will also receive integrated bodywork, whether you’d like to lose 10 pounds, have relief from discomfort, or unravel mind patterns.  Integrated wellness will be delivered with the most advanced techniques in health.
  • Massages to soothe the body, mind and soul, not to mention simply to relax and feel good!
  • Fit, Fun and Fabulous workouts.  If you already work out, we have a complete gym available.  If you have yet to find your passion in exercise, then we will help you to do that.  Life is motion; chiropractic care and exercise ensure that you will have proper, healthy motion for the rest of your life.
  • Energy mirroring will be done with the horses.  The horse is brilliant at relaxing us, moving us, and showing us who we are.  No riding is required and you can choose your comfort zone in distance, but we are quite certain that once you meet Chip and Ziggy, you will be in love.
  • Your meals are included beginning with a welcome wine and cheese to our Goddess Dinner.  We will be utilizing anti-inflammatory and medical foods (after the wine and cheese) to support your body’s health and vitality.

It’s May and Other Great Spring Happenings

The dictionary tells us transition is a passage from one state, stage, subject or place to another; a change–movement, development, evolution–from one form, stage or style to another.  Perhaps the best experience of transition is “the space between.”

During times of transition, we feel we are neither here nor there, this or that.  Transition puts us in the space between where we feel off balance and unsure, not knowing who we are, what we want, or what we should do next.

The transition phase during birth is well known to women because it presents the greatest pain–the phase when medication is often asked for.  Many women say pain during transition in labor is ‘so intense, it feels like they are having an out of body experience’.

Transitions in our lives can paralyze us with fear.  The end of a marriage, the loss of a loved one, or the loss of a job can put us in the space between where we feel enormous pain and uncertainty.  If our lives have been defined by the roles we play, we feel as though we do not know who we are without them.

When I look at my beautiful farm this time of year, I see the space between winter and spring.  The newness is there as we see with the young horses, we have occasionally warmer days, yet the mud is everywhere.  It is no longer the frozen ground of winter and yet not yet the consistent changes of spring.  There are no buds, no promise of flowers, no flowing water, no deeply green grass.  Only brown twisted limbs of seemingly dead trees, sparse brown grass not even enough for the colts to be nurtured by… gray days providing little warmth or brightness.

When we’re in the space between we have no idea where our final destination will be. Seemingly nothing is happening…it’s just a mess.  Yet it all must happen exactly as it is for those spring buds to form and that green grass to grow.  As mother earth collects her water we will have mud.  But Nature allows us to begin to trust that our destination will be OK no matter how ugly things are, how ugly we may feel inside or how cold the world has become.  God and mother earth have shown us that spring will come and so will summer, fall, and another winter–each with its own transition phase.

This is where we will begin our Four Season Exploration together:

Where are you in a transition phase?

Where is your life muddled up with seemingly no end in sight?

Where do you experience grayness with no color or passion?

Where is your pain causing you to give up?

Be gentle and compassionate with your pain.  Hold it gently and do not try to force it to end too soon.  Listen to what your pain tells you. Within pain is the motivation to wake up and create change.  If you try to numb your pain, you’ll miss the necessary stimulation to work through it in a healthy way.  Just like birthing, it’s essential to stay with the transition process – pushing through pain and watching for times to breathe and rest.  We can’t hasten the process, lest we miss restful times and collapse in exhaustion and depression.

The truth is we live on the greatest planet in the universe in what I believe to be the most blessed country on the planet.  We have unbelievable opportunities within our reach.  Use this place this day to declare you will not be defeated, that instead you will simply learn and quietly say, “Got it…Next?”  Because, there is always a next.

During our Four Season Exploration, it is my commitment to provide you with a better space between.  I will explore your next step with you every morning during the week.  We will frame your world the way it was intended: as a place of endless possibilities, deep joy and great learning.  Together we will reclaim our sense of humor and become our own very best friends.
