Weight Loss in Three Simple Steps

You are not a compartmentalized machine; you are a whole being whose parts are interrelated and adapting to each other every second of every day.  When you think a thought, you change your body’s chemistry via neuropeptides, which give information to your cells, tissues and organs.  We have all experienced a difference in our physical bodies when the information we tell ourselves is “I feel happy, fit, and successful” versus “I feel sad, sluggish, and undervalued.”  Everything you say, eat, do or are is received as information in your body.  Your body responds to the information it is given, and that data comes in the forms of: the food you eat, the thoughts you think, the water you drink, the exercise you choose to participate in, and more.  Knowing this is dynamic and exciting, because it puts the power of your life experiences – physically, spiritually, and emotionally – directly in your hands!

Given the fact that our human bodies operate in a holistic manner, you must consider a whole-body approach to health and wellness and weight loss.  Your body is more than the sum of your parts and must be balanced to maintain normal healthy function.

Three simple steps to achieve your weight loss goals and begin to live your life the Fit, Fun and Fabulous at Any Age way include:  First – Set your goals, sign a contract with yourself, maintain your focus, and keep a journal to record your daily progress as well as your thoughts and feelings.  Second – Share your goals with your family.  It was recently reported on Good Morning America that 1/3 of all cancers are related to obesity and inactivity.  Feed your family the same foods that you eat, and they will reap the same rewards that you reap.  Third – become active.  Life is motion and movement is the elixir of youthful vitality.

Life is about choices and you are the author of your life.  You control your choices.   The exciting news is that your weight loss goals can be positively influenced by three basic areas that are in your control:  nutrition, exercise, and quality rest.  The choice is yours.
